John has spent 35 years working for Pennsylvania public schools, including 12 years as a junior high science teacher. In 1987, John became responsible for initiating and developing the North Penn School District's Student Assistance Program for Drug and Alcohol Intervention, and also their Alternative Education and Suicide Prevention programs, all of which were widely recognized as both innovative and effective. He also was the SAP Coordinator of four teams assisting 13,000 students in the district. Dr. Bearoff's career, both in education and private practice, has been focused on helping adolescents, and he has specialized in the areas of raising self-esteem, stress management, grief/loss, substance abuse prevention, suicide/crisis intervention, and conflict resolution. John has also served as a school psychologist and consultant many local school districts. H has also served as chairperson of Upper Merion's Safe Schools Committee, and helped to establish a district-wide Safe Schools prevention and intervention plan. Dr. Bearoff has had a private clinical psychological practice since 1984, with offices in East Norriton, PA., and Doylestown, PA. His practice has specialized in the areas of raising self-esteem, stress management, motivation, career counseling, psychological evaluations, grief/loss, and the use and teaching of Hypnosis and Biofeedback. He has received Montgomery County's "Outstanding Service to Youth" Award. |
